Jackson, Mississippi-based U.S. Orthopaedic Partners (USOP), a leading orthopedic care platform, has announced a new partnership with Montgomery, Alabama-based Southern Orthopaedic Surgeons LLC.
USOP is a scalable platform that “provides the full continuum of musculoskeletal treatment, including surgical and non-surgical care, to patients in the southeastern United States.”
Formed in 1996, Southern Orthopaedic Surgeons serves patients from four Alabama-based locations. Its staff includes 10 orthopedic physicians who offer orthopedic surgery, sports medicine, and physical therapy treatment options as well as physician assistants, certified registered nurse practitioners, physical therapists, administrators, and managers.
According to Southern Orthopaedic Surgeons Chief Executive Officer Jenna Roton, “We were drawn to the USOP platform and its scalability, which allows our practices to continue to enhance our comprehensive patient care.”
Roton continued, “We look forward to integrating the platform with our practice locations, as well as working with USOP so that our surgeons can continue to provide the latest cutting-edge technology to the River Region that our patients have come to expect.”
With this new partnership, 26 practice locations will have access to USOP’s platform which, according to USOP, includes “practice management and performance resources.”
OTW spoke with USOP Chief Executive Officer Glen Silverman about expansion plans for 2022. “We believe the timing of our entry into the market is right. The demand for orthopaedic services will continue to increase, noting both an aging population and a payer-friendly environment continuing the migration of work towards outpatient surgery centers.”
Silverman continued, “These tailwinds, along with the current physician trends and pressures, allow an excellent opportunity for partnerships. We have plans to continue to expand within the southern market.”
Southern Orthopaedic Surgeons is USOP’s seventh partnership since its founding in 2020. USOP closed 2021 with the acquisition of Birmingham, Alabama-based Andrews Sports Medicine & Orthopaedic Center.
