ChoiceSpine LLC is launching its next generation of the popular Harrier Stand-Alone Anterior Lumbar Interbody Fusion System which comes in three anatomical footprints, multiple lordotic options and has a Cam-Locking Mechanism which gives additional protection against screw back-out.

The new anterior lumbar interbody fusion system uses the company’s proprietary BioBond porous structure technology to facilitate bone growth and fusion. It also features four titanium, dual-threaded corticocancellous screws designed for lag purchase and graft loading.

Other benefits of the system include a large graft window for combining it with Stratofuse Biologics and multiple insertions options to allow for easy access to the anterior lumbar spine.

“The Harrier SA System instrumentation and implants provide an exceptional solution for my patients requiring anterior lumbar fusions. The wide variety of footprints and lordotic options allow for optimal restoration of the disc space. In addition, the system allows up to 45° screw angulation which is optimal for L5-S1 implant placement,” said Betsy Grunch, M.D., a Gainesville, Georgia design surgeon for the Harrier SA system.

Harrier SA provides surgeons an excellent Stand-Alone Solution for ALIF procedures,” added the company’s executive vice president of strategy and technology Steve Ainsworth, Ph.D.

According to the company, the system is meant for stand-alone use, but it is compatible with ChoiceSpine’s Raven Anterior Lumbar Plate System if the surgeon requires additional fixation.

ChoiceSpine’s interbody product line includes a variety of 3D printed titanium and PEEK polymer innovatively designed implants.
