The American Joint Replacement Registry (AJRR) has announced that the Orthopaedic Data Evaluation Panel (ODEP), a UK-based independent group of clinical and non-clinical orthopedic experts, has approved use of AJRR data to support manufacturer applications for 3- and 5-year benchmarks for total hip replacements, total knee replacements, and unicondylar knee replacements.
“The Orthopaedic Data Evaluation Panel, something we don’t have (yet) in the U.S., provides objective, systematic ratings of the strength of evidence supporting the performance of orthopaedic implants,” s James I. Huddleston, III, M.D., chair of the AJRR Steering Committee, told OTW.
