Daniel B. F. Saris, M.D., Ph.D. is the inaugural winner of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons (AAOS) Arnold I. Caplan Award for Distinguished Research in Orthobiologics.
Dr. Caplan, who passed away on January 10, 2024, was a pioneer in the field of orthobiologics and medicinal signaling cells and made important contributions for more than five decades to advancing biologics solutions for musculoskeletal injuries or pathologies.Â
