Austin, Texas-based Hanger, Inc., founded in 1993 and, with 900 locations across the United States, one of the largest suppliers of prosthetics and orthotics in the world, is betting big on next generation smart prosthetics with this announcement that it has reached an agreement to partner with Chicago-based COAPT, Inc.
Founded in 2012, COAPT develops “smart” and intuitive software for upper limb prosthetics. According to its website, COAPT smart prosthetics are able to recognize patterns based on the company’s myoelectric technology.
