The lawsuit came without warning on September 24, 2024. 

Lucina Uddin,, Ph.D., an American cognitive neuroscientist, founder of the graduate program in cognitive and behavioral neuroscience at the University of Miami, a CIFAR Azrieli Global Scholar, director of the Brain Connectivity and Cognition Laboratory and Professor and director of the Center for Cognitive Neuroscience Analysis Core at the Semel Institute for Neuroscience and Behavior at UCLA, filed a lawsuit on behalf of all scientists.
