In a significant legal move, Massachusetts Attorney General Andrea Joy Campbell, along with attorneys general from 16 other states, has filed a lawsuit against the Trump administration, alleging unlawful delays and terminations of National Institutes of Health (NIH) research grants. The suit, filed in the U.S. District Court for Massachusetts, contends that the administration’s actions are jeopardizing critical medical and public health research.
“Massachusetts is the medical research capital of the country,” stated AG Campbell. “Our public research institutions rely on NIH funding for groundbreaking research, job creation, and academic competitiveness. I won’t allow the Trump administration to take unlawful actions that play politics with our public health.”
