A new study tests the ability of smart watches to monitor patient adherence to at-home shoulder physiotherapy or even to predict recovery outcomes in certain cases.

The resulting paper, titled “Quantifying the Relationship Between At-Home Shoulder Physiotherapy Participation and Outcome: What can a Watch Tell Us?” appears in the June 15, 2025, issue of the Journal of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons (JAAOS).
