The U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) just announced a record breaking health care fraud initiative which resulted in over 300 criminal charges and the seizure of $245 million in ill-gotten assets.
The initiative was brought by multiple federal agencies and state attorney generals. The DOJ reported that the schemes added up to more than $14 billion in intended fraud loss to health care programs including Medicare and Medicaid.
