Few debates in knee arthroplasty spark as much polite-but-pointed hallway chatter as the fixation question: cemented or uncemented? Some swear by polymethylmethacrylate as the orthopedic equivalent of duct tape—strong, dependable, time-tested. Others prefer press-fit and biological fixation, trusting bone to do what bone does best: grow and hold.
Now, a Danish–Swedish team has taken this argument to the RSA courtroom. And the verdict—at least for femoral components—leans cemented.
