Orthopedic surgeons may finally hear the sweet sound of fewer gnashing teeth.

In a move that may cause orthopedic offices across the country to collectively check whether it’s April 1st, UnitedHealthcare (UHC) has announced plans to eliminate approximately two-thirds of prior authorization requirements for patients under age 18 by the end of 2026.
