Pantheon Surgical, LLC., previously known as Pantheon Spinal, LLC. has announced the acquisition of the Blue Topaz/CompresSIve sacroiliac (SI) screw system from Osseus Fusion Systems, LLC. Osseus will continue to distribute the SI joint fusion system.

The current Pantheon CEO, Eric Hansen, who was the former Osseus chief executive, has said that he is “excited about the transfer acquisition of the Blue Topax/CompresSIve system into the Pantheon armamentarium. I look forward to a continued relationship with our phenomenal distribution network. We will continue to develop the system by adding two sizes and size surface technologies in the near future.”

The company first teased the acquisition of the system when they announced the formation of Pantheon Spinal after merging with Summit Spine and Eric Hansen’s appointment in April 2020.

The Blue Topaz/CompresSIve screw system features distal cutting flutes and dual lead threads to ease insertion and improve bone grip. The perforated, fenestrated design allows for osseointegration and reduced radiographic signature, compared with solid walled screws. The screws also include integrated safety features, which help control targeting and insertion as well as incorporate a post fusion removal system. The trio of screws are inserted laterally to provide stabilization and promote fusion of the SI joint.

Osseus Fusion Systems acquired the Blue Topaz/CompresSIve system with the purchase of SIJ Surgical just under one year ago.

Other implants in the Pantheon Surgical portfolio include the Pontus implant, Epiphany implant, Trident anchor cervical implant and the Summit Spine Channel and Yellowstone interbody fusion device systems.
