Rules For Entry

To be eligible for the 2026-2027 Technology Awards, subject to narrow exceptions:

  1. Technology IS any device, biomaterial, software-based device (including robotic assistance, navigation, artificial intelligence, or augmented reality), or biologic product developed to improve the care of patients with orthopedic and musculoskeletal conditions, including technologies intended to support evaluation, diagnosis, treatment, monitoring, or procedural care.
  2. The owners of the technology have applied for patent protection roughly 36 months prior to the awards presentation.
  3. While it need NOT be either FDA cleared or approved, if FDA approved or cleared, such approval or clearance was received no more than 12 months before the awards presentation.
