On Tuesday, December 10, 2013, South Lake Hospital in Clermont, Florida hosted a groundbreaking for its new Skilled Nursing Unit, a 30-bed, inpatient rehabilitation facility. The unit, which is scheduled to open summer 2014, will meet the needs of orthopedic patients in need of additional rehabilitation.

South Lake Hospital has partnered with Southern Growth Partners to develop the 28, 000 square foot facility. Typical stays will be 30 days or less. This new facility will allow patients to stay in the community following procedures that require inpatient rehabilitation. The new facility will add approximately 45 to 50 jobs to the area.

John Moore, South Lake Hospital president told OTW, “As South Lake Hospital continues to move forward, the ability to have access to the appropriate sites of care for patients across the continuum is critical. A distinct need for this service exists in our market.”
