Illinois Bone & Joint Institute (IBJI) has expanded its services across the border and into Wisconsin. IBJI, a well-known orthopedic specialty care provider with offices throughout downtown Chicago and Chicago’s north and northwest suburbs, is now offering its full spectrum of care to residents of southeast Wisconsin.
According to the December 3, 2014 press release, “IBJI physicians are seeing patients at United Hospital System’s Pleasant Prairie and Kenosha locations, providing services that include general orthopedics, sports medicine, trauma and fracture care, joint replacement, and treatment of chronic conditions including arthritis. Tomas Nemickas, M.D., Bruce Summerville, M.D., Anand Vora, M.D., and David Hamming, M.D., bring expertise in the treatment of knees, hips, elbows, shoulders, feet and ankles. All four specialists are board-certified in orthopedic surgery. They are available for patient consultations at St. Catherine’s Medical Center in Pleasant Prairie and at Kenosha Medical Center in Kenosha. This new partnership was created in cooperation with IBJI’s Gurnee and Libertyville offices. By spring 2015, the IBJI team serving the Pleasant Prairie and Kenosha locations is expected to grow to eight physicians.”
In 1990 IBJI established its first location and now has facilities in Chicago and within the north and northwest suburbs. “IBJI has grown its practice in this region based on its reputation as a provider of extremely high quality, collaborative care that is affordable, ” said Dr. Nemickas.
Kristie Martinez, Administrator of the Illinois Bone & Joint Institute, told OTW, “Southeastern Wisconsin is a natural fit if you look at how IBJI has grown. We opened our first office in a Chicago suburb almost 25 years ago. Since then, IBJI has steadily added locations, opening offices in Chicago and across the north and northwest suburbs.”
“IBJI has been growing quickly over the last few years. Patient demand has helped to guide that growth. This move makes sense for us. IBJI has built a reputation for high quality orthopedic care that is affordable. In today’s health care market, that value is what patients really want.”
As for where they would like to be in one year, Martinez commented to OTW, “We started with three physicians seeing patients at the Wisconsin locations. We expect to add at least another five orthopedic specialists in 2015. IBJI doctors treat patients of all ages. That means there’s a potential patient population for IBJI of about 2 million people in southeastern Wisconsin.”
This is very interesting to know. I have many, many problems with my bones. Hips, ribs, spine, hands, etc. I am still in contact with the orthopedic Dr’s who are now in there own offices…
