Craig Della Valle, M.D., a joint reconstruction and replacement surgeon at Midwest Orthopaedics at Rush, is going to be even busier in the coming months. Dr. Della Valle has just been elected to the board of directors of three orthopedic organizations. He was elected as member-at-large to the board of the Mid-America Orthopaedic Association and The Knee Society and as secretary to the board of the Hip Society.
Dr. Della Valle, who specializes in primary and revision total joint arthroplasty, is also professor of Orthopedic Surgery at Rush University Medical Center and education committee chairman for the American Association of Hip and Knee Surgeons.
Dr. Della Valle told OTW, “Each of the three societies is different. However, one of the main things that they all hope to achieve is education of the membership to help them take care of their patients and I hope that I can help in this regard. Both the hip society and the knee society are also hoping to become more engaged in actively performing research as a group and I hope to be able to move along this agenda in both societies.”
