A greater number of locations for the greater good of New Yorkers…Hospital for Special Surgery (HSS) has announced the signing of a lease to establish an outpatient center in Westchester County, New York.
The new center, located near I-287 and the Hutchinson River Parkway at 1133 Westchester Avenue in White Plains, New York, will be approximately 50, 000 square feet, making it the largest of the HSS outpatient centers. Other locations include Fresh Meadows, Queens; Uniondale, Long Island; Paramus, New Jersey; Stamford, Connecticut, several sites in Manhattan, and HSS Spine and Sport in Jupiter, Florida.
“HSS is dedicated to providing access to high quality specialty care and our increased presence in regional communities is evident, ” said Louis A. Shapiro, president and CEO of HSS, in the January 15, 2016 news release. “This new location gives us a unique opportunity to create a facility ideal for Westchester County residents who want the unmatched excellence of HSS closer to home.”
“Westchester could not be more pleased to welcome Hospital for Special Surgery to the county, ” said Westchester County Executive Robert P. Astorino. “Our team worked hard to make this a reality. HSS and the county are leaders when it comes to providing for quality of life. The new outpatient center is another step forward.”
Construction will begin in September 2016 with an anticipated opening in the fourth quarter of 2017.
Asked about patient considerations as they approach construction, Shapiro told OTW, “In developing this and any facility our priorities are designing for safety, operational quality, and a great patient experience. Coupled with HSS talent and culture, these factors produce the outcomes and experience that attract patients from all 50 states and more than 100 countries.”
As for what made this an ideal location, Shapiro noted, “HSS is committed to make world class musculoskeletal care more accessible to consumers everywhere who prioritize quality. This is a high quality building in a wonderful community at a place convenient for the many discerning consumers who live in Westchester County and neighboring communities.”
“The market continues to respond very positively to our focus on quality and innovation, and so our growth is accelerating in many ways—including geographic expansion.”
