Sheyan Armaghani, M.D.

Sheyan Armaghani, M.D., an orthopedic surgeon, specializing in degenerative spine conditions, is the latest physician to join Florida Orthopaedic Institute.

“We are pleased to welcome such a talented physician to Florida Orthopaedic Institute and the Tampa Bay community, ” says Dr. Roy Sanders, president of Florida Orthopaedic Institute, in the September 8, 2016 news release. “Dr. Armaghani’s training in degenerative spine conditions, as well as treatments of neck pain and back pain, will be a great asset to our team and the patients he serves.”

As indicated in the news release, Dr. Armaghani received his fellowship training in adult spinal surgery at the Emory University School of Medicine. He is board eligible by the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery. Dr. Armaghani uses a nonsurgical approach and minimally invasive techniques with the goal of returning his patients back to enjoying the activities they love, in the safest way possible.

Dr. Armaghani went through an accelerated undergraduate/medical school program at the University of Florida, then did a residency at Vanderbilt University where he was named chief resident and was granted awards for his research. Dr. Armaghani has co-authored over 25 publications and has delivered presentations at national meetings on topics that range from post-operative pain management to the treatment of patients with diabetes. His most recent research interests include identifying factors that influence outcomes following surgery and minimizing complications.

Dr. Armaghani told OTW, “I’m excited to meet and connect with patients about how I can help them get back to enjoying the activities they love.”

“My first steps will be to connect with non-operative and primary care providers to build strong community relationships and participate in giving educational seminars to patients on the importance of spine health.”
