Colorado-based Regenexx has just added a patient outcomes application to its website. The company prides itself on transparency, and gives all Regenexx patients information regarding their outcomes following treatment.

According to the December 13, 2016 news release, “The patient outcomes app allows you to search outcomes by body part, including ankle/foot, hand/wrist/elbow, hip, knee, shoulder, and spine. From there, you can select from a variety of outcome averages (‘metrics’). For example, if you are looking at the knee arthritis, you can select specific outcomes to review, including percent improvement, average pain, average function scores (LEFS), and an additional function and pain score called the IKDC. For each body part, the app provides the number of patients who have reported outcomes, age ranges and average, BMI ranges and average, and numbers and percentages of male and female patients reporting. Each metric reviewed also includes a line graph showing reporting time points in months. Additionally, an explanation of the outcome data is provided below each graph.”

Company Founder Chris Centeno, M.D. said, “No other clinic system on earth has the ability to show its patients their real time outcome data. While registry data always suffers from patients who fail to respond, the large numbers of patients being tracked allows for segmenting data in ways that smaller randomized controlled trials can’t.”

Mark A. Testa, D.C., M.H.A., media representative for Regenexx, told OTW, “We have been collecting outcome data through a registry since 2005 and as a result, are now tracking more than 9, 000 orthopedic stem cell treated patients. Given the Wild West nature of stem cell treatments that promise to be miracle clues, we have always taken a data-driven approach. Our goal was to allow the public to access that data for complete transparency.”

“Regenexx is the only company worldwide that has collected 11 years of outcome and complications data on a proprietary orthopedic stem cell treatment protocol. We believe in complete transparency so that physicians and the public can use that data to determine if this type of therapy is a good fit for any specific patient.”

“This web-based outcome application is a game changer because it allows the public to see how well what we offer works or doesn’t work for each condition.”
