Foot and ankle specialist Raymond Hsu, M.D. has joined University Orthopedics (UOI), a practice based in Rhode Island.
Edward Akelman, M.D., president of University Orthopedics, said in the in the October 17, 2017 news release, “Dr. Hsu is an experienced surgeon with extensive expertise in the treatment of foot and ankle injuries. At University Orthopedics, our team is comprised of sub-specialized surgeons, which ensures that all patients are treated by truly the best in their field.”
“Dr. Hsu has been practicing orthopedic surgery for seven years,” says the news release. “He is a fellowship trained, and American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery eligible orthopedist, with a special concentration in trauma and foot and ankle.”
“Dr. Hsu treats a wide range of injuries, both surgical and nonsurgical, including, foot and ankle injuries, acute and chronic conditions including fractures, ligament injuries, cartilage injuries, Achilles and other tendon injuries, ankle arthritis, foot arthritis, ankle/hindfoot/midfoot/forefoot deformity, posttraumatic deformity/arthritis, flatfeet (planovalgus), high arched (cavovarus) feet, and bunions.”
“He holds an undergraduate degree from University of Pennsylvania and an MD from Cornell University. Additionally, he completed his medical residency at Brown University, his Orthopedic Trauma Fellowship at Brown University, and his Orthopedic Foot and Ankle Fellowship at the University of Utah.”
Dr. Hsu told OTW, “The combination of my trauma fellowship here at Rhode Island Hospital working with acute orthopedic care and my foot and ankle fellowship in Salt Lake City working with more elective and subacute foot and ankle care has best prepared me for this new role.”
“Moving forward, I plan to tailor the practice to serve the community both respect to acute foot and ankle issues that arise and the referral demands of the health care system in Rhode Island.”
