Florida Orthopaedic Institute (FOI) has formed the Orthopaedic Solutions Management (OSM) organization to provide a whole suite of new services for orthopedic practices.
Florida Orthopaedic Institute CEO Joe Gordon told OTW; “Our management services organization [MSO] is the vehicle for all of our merger and acquisition [M&A] activity throughout the state of Florida and beyond. In addition to M&A activity, the new organization will provide orthopaedic practices with management services. The ultimate goal of Orthopaedic Solutions Management is to free the physician from the business of medicine so that they can focus on patient care.”
“This is an exciting time for Florida Orthopaedic Institute and OSM as we look towards expanding our footprint and building upon more than three decades of nationally renowned orthopaedic surgeons, ambulatory surgery centers and clinical expertise.”
“The MSO, Orthopaedic Solutions Management (OSM) was created as a necessary platform to address a variety of growth strategies and opportunities being presented to Florida Orthopaedic Institute. OSM will be the catalyst vehicle that will allow FOI to grow thru a number of pathways including mergers, practice acquisitions, strategic partnerships as well as providing management services to other practices or ambulatory surgery centers.”
“Like so many other areas of healthcare, the burden on physician practices to comply and manage regulatory and payer requirements demands a greater portion of their time and resources. With all of these demands, the physician is forced to spend less and less time with the patient. OSM is designed to relieve the physician from much of the administrative and regulatory aspects of managing their practice while letting them focus more of their time with their patients. This increases not only the satisfaction of the physician but of the patient as well. For the practice, the ultimate goal is to free the physician from the business of medicine so that they can focus on patient care. On a side note, it’s also worth noting that the MSO services help providers to increase quality, increase patient satisfaction, increase revenue and decrease cost.”
