Philadelphia’s renowned Rothman Orthopaedic Institute continues to build its footprint in New Jersey and New York. In addition to establishing new clinics, the famed Rothman Orthopaedic Institute has recruited five of the top New Jersey and New York based spine, orthopedic, sports medicine and extremity surgeons. The new members of the ever-expanding Rothman Institute are:

  • Rocco Bassora, M.D., Shoulder & Elbow/Sports Medicine surgeon
  • Andrew Beharrie M.D., Sports Medicine surgeon
  • Christopher Inzerillo, M.D., Sports Medicine surgeon
  • Samir Sodha, M.D., Hand & Wrist surgeon
  • Howard Yeon, M.D., Spine surgeon

These doctors will begin seeing patients at Rothman Orthopaedic Institute’s new Montvale, New Jersey, office beginning September 24, 2018. The office, located at 305 West Grand Avenue, will feature nine exam rooms and onsite X-ray.

“These five physicians fit perfectly into Rothman Institute’s expansion plans into Northern New Jersey and New York State,” said Alexander R. Vaccaro, M.D., Ph.D., M.B.A., president of Rothman Orthopaedic Institute, Richard H. Rothman Professor and chairman of the Department of Orthopaedics, and professor of Neurosurgery at Thomas Jefferson University and Hospitals. “They deliver high-quality orthopaedic care and will be in network with all major insurance carriers. It is a natural fit and we are happy they joined us.”

Each of the physicians spoke with OTW:

Dr. Sodha: “This has long been a region where a patient’s insurance type and out of network benefits can cloud the patient-doctor relationship. My priority is to provide this community with an in-network, sound, evidence-based orthopedic practice regardless of medical benefits in the emergent and non-emergent setting.”

Dr. Bassora: “To have the opportunity to apply the skills and knowledge I have attained over the years, with the hopes of improving my patients’ quality of life. Offering sincere orthopedic care to the North New Jersey population is my number one priority, one patient at a time.”

Dr. Inzerillo: “My first priority would be to increase the access to highly skilled, fellowship trained orthopedic surgeons to same day or next day appointments for the people of Northern New Jersey and Southern New York. I also want to help advance the science, surgical techniques, and improve outcomes for patients as part of the Rothman Orthopaedic Institute.”

Dr. Yeon: “I am thrilled to be joining the Rothman Institute to provide exceptional orthopedic care to patients in New Jersey and New York. My goals will be to provide compassionate, patient-centric care to patients with spinal disorders and to offer surgical treatment when it is appropriate.”

Dr. Beharrie: My priority will be to provide accessible, high-quality orthopedic care to the residents of Montvale and North Jersey. I specialize in sports medicine and will treat athletic and non-athletic injuries in patients of all ages as well as general musculoskeletal conditions.”
