Start spreading the news…Rothman Orthopaedic Institute has just opened in New York City. This new office, located at 176 3rd Avenue, features almost 4,000 square feet, six exam rooms, and x-ray imaging.
Alexander R. Vaccaro, M.D., Ph.D., M.B.A., president of Rothman Orthopaedic Institute, Richard H. Rothman Professor and Chairman of the Department of Orthopaedics, and professor of Neurosurgery at Thomas Jefferson University and Hospitals, described the Institute’s expansion process in New York City to OTW, “Well first we need to establish our offices and get up and running. We don’t anticipate any delays in this process. We are currently working with all the major insurance providers on agreements that will put us in-network which will be a huge advantage for all patients in Westchester County, but especially in Manhattan. Lastly, we are educating referring and primary care physicians that the best evidence-based orthopaedic care is available to their patients. It is a large task, but we are already attacking it with vigor.”
“New York is a different market with a different set of rules and regulations. Permits and such can take time. Finding quality real estate to fit our needs is another challenge. Then the initial marketing message—introducing ourselves to the millions of people in Greater New York—will take some time and effort. Once we are established and our marketing campaign is underway the process of launching additional offices should be much smoother.”
“This will be our first home in Manhattan, said Anthony A. Romeo, M.D., chief of Orthopaedics, Rothman Orthopaedic Institute – New York. “Once we are up and running New Yorkers from all five boroughs can come get the elite level orthopaedic care they need. We are hoping this is the first of many locations to better serve our patients from across the region.”
“New York City is one of the biggest markets in the world,” said Mike West, CEO of Rothman Orthopaedic Institute. “As we expand north an office in Manhattan was a natural fit. We look forward to serving the patients of the city.”
