Houston, Texas-based Medovate Technologies, LLC announced the launch of its surgical case management platform, CaseCTRL.

The CaseCTRL team is comprised of orthopedic surgeon Ashvin K. Dewan, M.D., systems engineer Pamela Singh, and software expert Saachi Roye. Together they are delivering a platform to surgeons that utilizes artificial intelligence and automation to advance surgical care.

CaseCTRL Co-Founder and Chief Medical Officer Dr. Dewan developed CaseCTRL in response to his frustration with surgery case management. Dr. Dewan told OTW, “10% of the time I was missing what I needed to start surgery. Fed up with the administrative burden, wasted time and the archaic and inefficient way of coordinating my surgeries, I coded an app to streamline my workflow.”

Dr. Dewan continued, “The overwhelming response from patients, staff, and administrators was so positive, I decided to team up with Pamela Singh to bring this platform to other surgeons.”

CaseCTRL provides support during the entire surgical process. Central to CaseCTRL is Case Builder. Utilizing artificial intelligence, it is a “real-time, digital point-of-care tool that allows surgeons to effortlessly construct customized cases.” CaseCTRL’s repository then “learns each individual surgeon’s case preferences.” The repository is Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPPA) compliant.

The platform’s technology enables the sharing of scheduling responsibilities. Dr. Dewan explained, “CaseCTRL is designed to optimize and supercharge scheduling. What’s different about our platform is that it tackles scheduling where the surgical journey begins: in the clinic with the patient.”

CaseCTRL follows every step of the surgical process. When scheduling becomes difficult or people are forced to work remotely, such as during the pandemic, the platform enables all parties to stay connected.

CaseCTRL Co-Founder Singh elaborated on CaseCTRL’s capabilities. Singh said, “Imagine a surgeon liberated from paperwork, with more time for patients, using smart algorithms to expertly transfer their knowledge. Imagine a patient using a confidence-inspiring virtual guide to prepare for surgery.”

Singh continued, “Imagine a scheduler 33% more efficient thanks to error-reducing automation. Finally, imagine a practice administrator in control of the case pipeline with the data needed to identify leaks or bottlenecks. That’s the power of CaseCTRL.”
