Pete Stoy, an executive with nearly 20 years of healthcare experienced, has joined Austin, Texas-based Hanger, Inc. as Chief Operating Officer (COO) of the Patient Care segment.
A Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives, Stoy has led large-scale commercial, operational, supply chain, and finance functions. He is experienced with managing strategic relationships at senior levels in some of the country’s largest integrated healthcare delivery systems.
Most recently, Story was at Sodexo, where he served as East Region President and was responsible for all operations, including thousands of provider and hospital-based support service employees. Prior to this role, Stoy served in leadership positions at McKesson where he oversaw the multi-billion dollar McKesson U.S. Pharmaceutical Health System segment, and also held senior positions in hospital sales and pharmaceutical distribution during his 13 years at Cardinal Health.
According to Hanger, “The new position of Chief Operating Officer aligns the Company’s Patient Care segment to reflect the increasing complexity, growth opportunities, and interdependencies of clinic operations, sales, marketing, supply chain management, as well as strategic oversight of Hanger’s corporate and business development programs.”
“Pete is a customer-centered leader with exceptional relationships across many large healthcare systems and the healthcare supply chain,” said Vinit Asar, company CEO. “For Hanger, he brings a keen focus and passion to the patient care experience, which is critical to achieving our goal of empowering human potential. I am looking forward to working with him as we continue to lead our profession by providing superior patient care, outcomes, services and value.”
Pete Story commented to OTW, “I’m looking forward to assuming the newly created role of COO for Hanger, a company with a long history of dedication to patient-focused care and innovation. As a veteran of other industry-leading healthcare organizations, I understand the complexities of balancing day-to-day operations and long-term strategy in the evolving healthcare landscape, and I look forward to learning more about the particularities of the O&P [orthotics and prosthetics] industry and collaborating with my new colleagues at Hanger.”
