Dickson-Diveley Orthopaedics and Orthopaedic and Sports Medicine Consultants (OSMC) have announced the orthopedic practices will merge March 1, 2021 resulting in a combined team of 25 board-certified physicians and more than 120 employees and support staff.
Currently the organizations serve patients in Leawood, Kansas and Kansas City, Missouri. Once joined, the group will be the largest independently owned orthopedic practice in the Kansas City metro area.
Dickson-Diveley has provided specialized orthopedic care since 1923. Its team offers surgical and non-surgical care and includes board-certified, fellowship-trained orthopedic surgeons and physiatrists, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, and durable medical equipment specialists. In addition to patient care, Dickson-Diveley provides teaching and clinical research.
Dickson-Diveley CEO and President Brian Divelbiss, M.D. is a hand and upper extremity surgeon. He has been a part of the group for nearly 20 years. Dr. Divelbiss commented, “This merger, which has been a few years in the making, is something we’re extremely excited about.”
Dr. Divelbiss continued, “The unification of our practices will allow us to bring together our combined expertise and provide an unmatched offering of orthopaedic services to patients across the Kansas City metro area. We have tremendous respect for the team at OSMC and are looking forward to leveraging our resources to raise the expectations for orthopaedic healthcare in this community.”
OSMC’s newest physician Jacob Stueve, M.D. commented, “Bringing together the best resources for orthopaedic care has always been our goal as a practice. The opportunity to work even more closely with the professionals at Dickson-Diveley is truly game-changing.”
Dr. Stueve continued, “This merger is a huge step, but only a first step, to expanding the orthopaedic landscape in Kansas City for the betterment of patients. We can’t wait to get started and see what the future holds.”
