Cedarhurst, New York-based South Island Orthopedics has welcomed David H. Godfried, M.D., F.A.A.O.S., F.A.A.P. to its orthopedic specialty practice.
Dr. Godfried has served pediatric patients in Nassau County for nearly 20 years. In his most recent role, he served as director of the Center for Children and the Ignacio Ponseti Clubfoot Center at the NYU Langone Orthopedic Hospital and Hassenfeld Children’s Hospital. By joining South Island Orthopedics, he expands its offerings to include pediatric orthopedics.
South Island Orthopedics has been in practice for more than 50 years. It offers general orthopedics, orthopedic surgery, sports medicine, and (now) pediatric orthopedics. South Island Orthopedics “serves the ‘Five Towns’ area of Long Island, as well as Rockaway, Long Beach and portions of Queens.”
OTW spoke with Dr. Godfried about joining South Island Orthopedics: “South Island Orthopedics has offered an opportunity to work with a group of outstanding orthopaedists and support staff in a community-based setting.”
Dr. Godfried continued, “The scale of the practice allows for a personalized team approach to specialty care that is responsive to both the needs of patients and referring providers in a way that legacy hospitals struggle to pull off.”

Health Plus Management, a practice management service, manages South Island Orthopedics. Health Plus Management provides financial support, marketing, operations, and technology services. These services enable “physicians a customized approach to grow their practices by focusing on clinical care.”
