Raj Gala, M.D. and Andrew Pao, M.D. have joined Greenwich, Connecticut-based Orthopaedic & Neurosurgery Specialists (ONS). Dr. Gala will begin seeing patients in the newly opened ONS Wilton office while Dr. Pao will provide care at ONS Greenwich, Stamford, and Harrison, New York offices.

Gala studied medicine at Case Western Reserve University and was Chief Resident at Yale-New Haven Hospital, followed by an orthopedic spine surgery fellowship at Emory University in Atlanta. Gala is an active member of various professional organizations, including the North American Spine Society (NASS), the American Association of Orthopaedic Surgeons (AAOS), the Cervical Spine Research Society (CSRS), and the Lumbar Spine Research Society (LSRS). His surgical specializations include spinal disorders, disc herniations, tumors, spinal deformity, and spinal trauma. Gala utilizes cutting edge treatments like minimally invasive spinal fusion surgery, minimally invasive lumbar decompression, and Vertiflex procedure, among others.
“I’m proud to be partnering with ONS to bring spine care to my hometown of Wilton. I’m also pleased to be able to care for patients in a brand-new state-of-the-art facility along with the ONS team of orthopedic specialists and physical therapists,” Dr. Gala told OTW.
Dr. Pao graduated with honors from Johns Hopkins University with a BA in Biomedical Engineering, went on to study medicine at the University of Virginia School, and subsequently completed an orthopedic surgery residency at Atlanta Medical Center, while also working for the Georgia Tech baseball team as assistant team physician. His fellowship training in foot and ankle surgery at Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas was completed under the mentorship of renowned ortho surgeon James Brodsky, M.D. Pao is a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons (AAOS) as well as the American Orthopedic Foot and Ankle Society (AOFAS). He specializes in treating foot and ankle arthritis, trauma and fractures of the lower extremity; foot and ankle reconstruction and revision surgeries, sports and cartilage injuries, and deformity correction surgery.
“I am quite honored to join ONS and am very excited to serve my community. I specialize in nonoperative and operative treatment of the foot and ankle. For me, it is the most interesting specialty in orthopedics. Each patient has different goals and expectations, and I really take these into account when formulating a customized treatment plan,” Dr. Pao told OTW.
For over 20 years, ONS has served Fairfield County, Westchester County, and the New York metropolitan area. The advanced ortho and neurosurgical practice offers joint replacement care, sports medicine, a full range of musculoskeletal treatment, brain surgery and rheumatology as well as minimally invasive orthopedic and spine surgery.
