Per the press release, this partnership creates one of the largest integrated MSK platforms in Pennsylvania and the U.S.
Philadelphia Hand to Shoulder Center CEO Patrick Kane, M.D. commented, “We see this partnership as an opportunity to grow not just in size and efficiencies but also in our ability to continue to deliver excellent patient care across a larger platform.”
Dr. Kane continued, “Our partnership with Premier Orthopaedics will allow us to provide more comprehensive care for our patients across the entire musculoskeletal spectrum. At the same time, joining HOPCo will allow us access to a larger infrastructure that will help accelerate our growth and lead further efforts in value-based care.”
HOPCo is a leading healthcare management company. According to the press release, both practices will now have access to “the full extent of HOPCo’s proprietary tools and analytics infrastructure.”
OTW spoke with HOPCo President and Chief Transformation Officer Wael Barsoum, M.D. about HOPCo’s plans for continued growth for 2023. Dr. Barsoum told OTW, “In 2023, we aim to expand our partnerships in the states where our platforms currently operate, including Arizona, Nevada, Oregon, Michigan, Wisconsin, Florida, North Carolina, Pennsylvania and New Jersey.”
Dr. Barsoum continued, “At the same time, we are already in discussion with physician practices and health systems in many other states who have recognized the success of our existing partners and are interested in becoming MSK value-based care leaders in their own markets.”
